
Fodder Flowers

Do you have accumulating fodder material that you don’t know what to do with? These fodder flowers are a great way make something new with fodder.
What is fodder?
Fodder is usually paper but it can be any material such as fabric or lace and it is usually scraps used for collage but it can be any leftover material that hasn’t found its way into a project for whatever reason.
This particular fodder material is waste from marker prints that didn’t print well, watercolor pages, mark making pages and watercolor stencil pages.
Use a variety of decorator scissors to cut out gradated circles before layering each with a dot of glue. Use two, three or five layers. The edges can be rimmed with paint or ink if desired. Gold metallic adds a nice touch. To differentiate each layer you can alternate between simple and busy paper or use stark contrast; dark vs. light, warm vs. cool. You can keep the dimension or glue each layer flat.
These flowers make beautiful focal points on a page or card. If you use heavier paper they make whimsical tags for journals or gifts. You can write positive affirmations on the back and tuck them into journals or make a bunch and write some create prompts on the back for a pretty display in your craft room.
